Your role

The Finance Manager is end-responsible for all finance activities at Relay42. This conveys (but is not limited to) strategic collaboration, budgeting, cash flow management, risk management, and stakeholder management. Additionally, you will be leading and coaching a small team (1x Financial Administrator and 1x Financial Accountant). Being a strategic business partner for the business, Management team, Supervisory Board, and other shareholders is crucial. You will be reporting directly to the CEO and will be an important member of the Leadership team.


Your responsibilities

  • Report periodically Finance figures to the Board including business KPIs

  • Set up the annual budget including cash flow forecast

  • Forecasts and scenario analysis

  • Monitor and review monthly expenditures, providing actionable improvement plans

  • Implement and oversee financial remedial plans when needed

  • Keeping track of the (future) cash

  • All (consolidated) financial statements and external reporting

  • Further develop financial procedures and guidelines within the organization

  • Being the contact person of Accountants, Banks, and tax authorities

  • Active (monitoring of) credit Management

  • Monitor the company's insurances

  • Coach, review and lead the Finance team (2 FTE)

  • Maintaining strong balance sheet control through monthly reconciliations and analytics

  • Building relationships and liaising with external providers such as tax advisors and auditors

  • Participate in strategic meetings to contribute to the annual financial strategy and business plan with the Management and Supervisory Board

  • Provide timely and accurate information to determine strategy and proactively identify issues

REQUIREMENTS

Expected

  • Master in Finance, Audit, Accounting, or Management Control or equivalent, experience with at least 5+ years of broad professional Finance experience, 2+ years of experience in taking the finance lead

  • Experience in the financial department of an international start/scale-up company

  • Knowledge of accounting according to Dutch GAAP (and UK GAAP is a plus)

  • Knowledge of relevant financial legislation

  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office and Google workspace

  • Excellent communication in English (Dutch speaking is a plus), written and verbal

  • Accurate and proactive

  • Getting energized from optimizing and automating financial processes

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to ensure tasks are followed through to completion - in addition, you are able to plan workload and priorities ensuring deadlines are always met and work is in line with policies and procedures

  • Curious with a constant drive to explore and execute improvements in results and efficiency

  • Strategic, analytical, and results-driven individual with commercial business acumen

  • Communicative team player with high self-motivation and a supportive mindset

Preferred

  • An RA/AA title is an advantage

  • Knowledge of Twinfield, Salesforce, Basecone, and Declaree is a plus
