JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a product-owner who enjoys adding value to a technical product in a scale-up environment? Do you like creating structure and apply agile working methods in a dynamic environment? Are you strong in stakeholder management, product-discovery skills and have a preference for data-driven decision making? Relay42 is looking for an experienced product owner (medior -senior level) to join our international team in Amsterdam.

For this position we only accept candidates already located in the Netherlands.

REQUIREMENTS

Your role:

As a Product Owner you are part of the Product- management team in Relay42, which currently consists of three Product Owners and one Head of Product who leads the team.

You are responsible for adding value on your part of the Relay42 product: The platform.

You make sure that the backlog is prioritized based on business-value and that the development-teams understand the clients needs. You ensure that the development outcome is communicated with clients and business stakeholders. You gather feedback on the delivered technology and validate if the solution matched the expected outcome. You own your part of the product.

We work with different development teams that all have their own focus. Your role is to guide the team of engineers that work on the infrastructure, architecture (platform). and operations. You prioritize their backlog and ensure that their solutions add value to the company and the customers

Within the product management team you contribute to the Product strategy and deliver on it. You are responsible for the in-depth strategy on your part of the product, that you define in collaboration with the product manager.



Your responsibilities:

Managing the product backlog (30%)

  • Ensuring the items on the backlog reflect their contribution to business value and are ordered as such
  • Making sure the backlog is in line with the product strategy
  • Refining the product backlog items with stakeholders to get a clear view of how the feature or request adds value to the product.
  • Refining the backlog items with the development team so the team members understand how the items will contribute to the user’s needs
  • Pro-actively gather user-feedback on the existing product to define improvements and incorporate new user needs in the backlog.
  • Identify the dependencies for the development team that you work with to ensure a fast as possible deliver

Being part of the development process (30%)

  • Making sure the items are ready enough for the team to work on. You gather information, analyze and share all the non-technical information that is needed for the team.

  • You help the engineering team to successfully deliver new functionalities and technicalities to consultants or other development teams. So, they understand the usage and benefits of the newly added stuff..

  • Collaborate with the development teams to clarify the added value of requests

  • Making sure the team understands the user’s problem/need so that the solution is matching

  • Collaborate with the technical leads to improve on the process

  • In the future: acceptance of the delivered solution to assure the development matches the user's needs.

Stakeholder Management (20%)

  • Communication with stakeholders on features, roadmaps, expected delivery, and expected solutions.
  • Collaboration with consultants on the ‘how’ of the solutions to ensure the end-user problem is solved
  • Making and communicating around release notes for your part of the product
  • Contribute to the bi-weekly product review to allow stakeholders to give feedback on the delivered product.
  • In collaboration with the development team you communicate with stakeholders on estimations & planning, managing the expectations of the stakeholders, their needs, and urgencies.

Being part of the product team (20%)

  • Align with PM and other PO’s on mutual dependencies, escalations, impediments that block you from delivering value
  • Align with PM on adjustments on the product strategy based on feedback
  • While we are growing the team we expect the PO to be flexible and help out in other teams and backlogs when needed.

What are we looking for?

And knows how to use these in the product discovery phase. Who has some experience in SAAS, MarTech or B2B products. And who enjoys being the centerpoint in a dynamic product organization. Who enjoys working with different stakeholders, developers, clients and is capable of communicating effectively and is enthusiastic about our product and its development.

We expect:

  • Demonstrable work experience as a Product Owner (medior - senior level)
  • Experience in product-driven organizations, preferably SAAS or MARTECH.
  • Experience with prioritizing, agile working methods and product discovery
  • A can-do energetic attitude, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, able to apply different communication styles
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Experience in start up/scale up environment
